Article About Migrants in GoW
I found and read a little bit of a certain article focused on the migrants in The Grapes of Wrath. This book was actually quite interesting, and revealed some exaggerations that novels and documentaries have shown. In the article, From the Dust Bowl to California: The Beautiful Fraud, by Jessica B. Tiesch, she writes about the true facts behind the Dust Bowl and that many things were exaggerated about the Dust Bowl and in Grapes of Wrath. Jessica begins by talking about the history and facts behind the Dust Bowl. Jessica believes that The Dust Bowl was quite exaggerated and states that less than 16,000 migrants moved to California, and that a lot of farmers moved to other locations like New Mexico, Kansas, or Texas. She later goes on in the article to describe the migration that the farmers went through, and some of the specific details involved in the migration. Overall, I look forward to reading more of this article definitely might use it as one of my sources. And I highly recommend you guys check it out in this link.

This sounds like a great source that I may also use as one of my sources. It sounds like it has a lot of useful information for the migrant worker topic. I also can't wait to read this article.
ReplyDeleteThis is a interesting article. I have read part of this article. Although you could probably use this for the migrant worker topic, you can also use it for the history topic. It goes into great depth on the migrant worker. This also compares Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath to the time period. From what I read, this is a great resource. In all, both the people who have migrant worker topic and history topic can use this amazing source.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really good article about this topic. I like how the article was saying the ruth about the dust bowl and the Great Depression. I also like how it goes into depth. This would be a good article to use about this topic.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good source. Does the book go a little into depth about other reasons why migrants left? Like going into factory towns?
ReplyDeleteThis artocle looks like I could get a lot of use out of it. I chose migrant workers as my topic and so I will give this article a good reading. From what you have said about it, it seems to show a lot of things and make good points that generally aren't thought of. Especially with all the facts it has. That will be very useful to me for when I write my paper.
