Why is Jane so fond of Mr. Rochester?

As Jane starts to gain feelings for Mr. Rochester and him likewise for her I started to wonder, why though? My only thoughts are that he is of a high class. According to the reading Rochester is said to be somewhat rude to Jane so I don't understand this. What are your thoughts?

  1. I think one reason she is starting to get feeling for him is because he is one of the first men that she actually gets to spend time around. Also he seems to be very curious about her with all the questions he asks her. She seems to just be very content with his presence and sad when he has to leave. So that is why she likes him. I don't know why she has those feeling though.

  2. I think another reason Jane is so fond of MR. Rochester is because he is very pleasant looking (to her at least). When Adele and Jane were invited to the drawing room with the ladies and Mr. Rochester, she is explaining his good looks and then goes as far as saying she loves him. I also agree with Kyle, it is mostly because she has never been around any young men, plus they spend a lot of time together conversing about both of their lives.
