John Steinbeck's The Grape of Wrath: A Call To Action by Kristine Yee

I read the article "John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath: A Call To Action" by by Kristine Yee. This is a great article that acknowledges the migrant workers in Steinbeck's book. The article connects the real migrant workers of the Great Depression and the Joad family. It's a great article to find facts about the migrant workers of that time. The author then talks about the connects with migrant workers in the book, which could help us connect the book to the migrant worker topic. The author also references other sources over migrant workers in that time. This is a great article for the migrant worker topic.

  1. I also read the article and thought it was very good. Kristine Yee went into to a lot of detail about the politics. One of my favorite things about the article was how they compared Grapes of Wrath to The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. The books have many similarities and addressing them increases the overall effectiveness of the article. I think the article makes a great resource for papers.

  2. It's great that the migrant workers were given credit for trying through those hard times. The connections the author makes must help to see what Steinbeck was trying to say and the information could make some really good input in an essay.

  3. Migrant workers are a large part of the Dust Bowl, and this article seemed to go into great detail, which is great. I'm glad the source connects what happened in Grapes of Wrath and the characters to real life facts and events. I'll definitely read into this more and probably use it for one of my sources. Thank you!
