GOW Source

I read the article Through a Political Glass, Darkly, which discusses how Steinbeck was never only mildly political but his books were almost constantly seen from a political view. While others like Hemingway and Faulkner wrote books with the subjects of politics in mind, Steinbeck, for the most part, never intended for his books to be seen as political. Some authors see this as a fault in his writing while others see it as a noble way to stray away from conflict.
