Mr. Brockelhurst asks her a series of questions about school. And Mrs Reed calls Jane a decietful little child. This gives Mr Brockelhurst a bad impression of Jane. Jane gets upset with Mrs Reed and says that she is not upholding her dying husbands last request. She also says that No matter what she does she will never love her and treat her like a child.
I think Jane might have finally stood up for herself because she knew she was finally getting away from Mrs.Reed and her discrimination. Jane wanted to get in the last word on what she thought of Mrs.Reed, one final smack in the face to compared to all the torture she had to go through.
