How is Jane affected by her "supernatural" experience?
During her time in the red room Jane experiences something she believes to be a ghost. She seems to be traumatically affected by the experience, and it also leads her to meet the doctor that asks her if she would like to attend school. This ghost of hers, while a figment of her imagination, seems to symbolize why the red room served as such a terrible punishment. How else might this have changed her psyche?

I believe it also gives her the strength to confront Mrs. Reed because although frightening she also sees him as a sign of Mrs. Reed's broken promise.
