While reading I feel like the school wouldn't have been that much of a prison. It seems very strict but I feel like when Jane becomes a teacher, she would have more privileges to see more of the outside world.
I was reading into a website about Jane Eyre and it talked about how Jane is a reflection of women at that time. Women we're viewed as lesser than men and they couldn't handle the outside world as much as their husbands or their male family members.
