This meme makes complete sense because throughout the novel the reader sees multiple occurrences of discrimination and segregation from the native people toward the migrants. This is because the migrants take the jobs of the natives because they work for low wages and will work no matter the conditions. Also, the natives were treated very poorly and suffered in poverty because of them being migrants. Therefore, this meme makes perfect sense.
This made me giggle. Batman is trying to tell Robin that moving to Cali would be stupid because they would just be discriminated.
