I can't help but wonder what became of Miss Blanche Ingram. What do you think her reaction was upon hearing that her fiance, Edward, was in fact intending to wed Jane Eyre, an unattractive governess to her wealth and beauty?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe she was mentioned again. Additionally, would it affect Miss Blanche's future prospects for marriage?
I bet she didn't even bat an eye and went right to the next guy, probably said "good riddance" because he was with a governess, and thus, proving he was not worthy of her.
ReplyDeletePurely based off of other literary works I believe that Miss Ingram could have been so angry she married the richest man she could find as quickly as possible. This would result in an unhappy marriage with no love whatsoever. And possibly two or three kids to keep the money in the family. Her husband could have died. And his sister could have left her daughter in her care. And Miss Ingram found this little niece to be a nuance. Sound familiar, yes, Miss Ingram could become the next Mrs Reed. dun Dun DUNNN
